FAQ
Common Questions

Will the treatment be painful?

We will take every measure to ensure that your procedure is in no way uncomfortable or painful. If treatment is needed, we will utilize local anesthesia to gently numb a concentrated area of your mouth. For most patients, the feeling of numbness usually subsides after 2-3 hours.

Will I need to return to your office for follow-ups after the procedure is finished?

For most root canal treatments no follow-op visit is required with our office; however, you may be asked to return for reassessment to ensure that the area is healed or healing properly. We will generally request that the referring dentist evaluate the site when you are having your annual recall examination.

I am very nervous about having a root canal, is sedation available for the procedure?

For those patients who do not feel that they can tolerate the procedure in our office with local anesthesia alone, we can also utilize oral sedation, nitrous oxide ('laughing gas'), IV sedation or even general anesthetic in extreme cases. If you wish to discuss having your treatment completed with sedation ,please inform us so we can schedule your first appointment accordingly.
